Every year, the part of the conference program is so-called live surgery section, 3D live transmissions of eye surgeries watched by the specialists in the conference hall as well as almost one thousand of those who watch the surgeries on-line. This 9th year offered eight live surgeries, six of them transmitted from Gemini Eye Clinic in Zlín and two from Antwerp, Belgium. The all-day conference brought also a number of presentations of case studies during which the lecturers presented on cases from their daily medical or surgical practice.

In the afternoon part of the program, an on-line discussion took place on the video of a rare and unique surgery performed by dr. Howard Gimbel from Calgary, Canada. Dr. Stodůlka discussed the case with internationally well-renowned speacialists Boris Maljugin from Russia, Roberto Bellucci from Italy, Calvin W. Roberts from the USA. Howard Gimbel, who has many times been named one of the most remarkable eye surgeons of the present, was during the Festival also given an award for his lifetime achievements in ophthalmology.

The Festival was held under the auspices of Svatopluk Němeček – the Minister of Health, Miroslav Adámek – the Mayor of the Town of Zlín, Stanislav Mišák – the President of the Zlín Region, Lubomír Nečas – the Deputy President for Health, Pavel Rozsíval – an opthtalmologist and honorable guest of the Festival, Milan Izák – an opthtalmologist and honorable guest of the Festival, Pavel Kuchyňka – the Head Surgeon of the Department of Ophthalmology of the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and of the Faculty Hospital Královské Vinohrady.
