The ASCRS Congress is one of the most visited overseas ophthalmic conferences. At this year’s event, Dr. Pavel Stodůlka, the Chief Surgeon of the Gemini Eye Clinics network, was once again among the featured speakers.
The traditional annual meeting of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) took place from April 10 to 13, 2026, in Washington, D.C., USA. The society connects ophthalmologists with leading manufacturers to collaboratively create unique new innovations, methods, and technologies. Interestingly, in addition to traditional lectures, these large-scale congresses also offer hands-on workshops and courses led by experienced surgeons.
As video has become an essential part of modern education, the meeting also includes a film festival focused on professional videos from ophthalmic practice. Chief Surgeon Pavel Stodůlka, M.D., Ph.D., FEBOS-CR, regularly presents his footage from the operating room there. This year, his entry was titled “Haptic trim large angle Kappa chord video.” Furthermore, he delivered a lecture dedicated to the development of a unique robotic laser designed to assist surgeons during cataract surgery.
